EASE members, join us for our final webinar this year, Tuesday, 7th December, 12pm-1pm (UK time) when Pippa Smart will be discussing the benefits and potential pitfalls around Preprints, Editors and Publishing.
2020 and 2021 were a watershed period for publishing when the use of preprints (i.e. articles posted before formal review) became a normalised activity for many researchers. Although used extensively in several communities for many years (e.g. on the ArXiv.org site) it is their use in the biomedical sciences which has proved momentous for publishing. However, they are not without problems and this presentation will consider the place of preprints within the academic and conference ecosystem, and consider how they are used – and abused – in the dissemination of research information within academia and among the wider public.
The session is available exclusively to EASE members - see more details and register on the EASE website
