New flowcharts from COPE

The Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) published two new flowcharts to help editors and publishers decide what to do when they suspect that the authors manipulated the publication process: one for image manipulation, and one for peer review manipulation. Both these types of manipulation can result in retraction of the papers concerned, and thus require a careful investigation.

The new flowcharts join the collection of more than 20 flowcharts designed to navigate difficult situations in scientific publishing.
