Many of the issues raised at this meeting are relevant to researchers and authors, especially non-native English speakers, who wish to improve the impact of their own scientific writings. This commentary summarizes the editors' debate and uses the discussion that followed as the basis to analyze emerging concepts in high-impact publishing.
