Four BMC journals (Trials, Systematic Reviews, Pilot and Feasibility Studies, and the Journal of Medical Case Reports) have launched a pilot programme to endorse mentoring of early career researchers in the peer review processes. The programme aims to increase diversity and inclusivity by formalising the process.
