Springer Science+Business Media, owner of BioMedCentral (BMC), is launching a series of new open access e-journals under the banner SpringerOpen (http://www.springeropen.com). Taking inspiration, expertise and technology from BMC, SpringerOpen will start publishing 12 titles in early 2011, and institutions signed up to BMC's membership team will also get access to the new SpringerOpen titles.
